What are your studio hours?

Downtown studio hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m; other times available by appointment. Appointments are recommended.

Chesterfield: by appointment only.

Is digital technology as good as film?

Yes. With complete understanding of digital cameras and the required workflow and processing. Many times the word "digital" is thought of meaning ink-jet prints, but not the case at Signature Studio. Whether an image is captured with a film camera or a digital camera, all images are digitally mastered to insure the best possible quality, color, and presentation in your final prints.

What percentage of black-and-white do you take? And is it extra?

There is no extra charge of black-and-white and you can have as much or as little black-and-white as you wish. However, normally the final result is about 60% color and 40% black-and-white. Sepia toning is also available at no additional charge.

Do you offer packages?

Yes, we offer three basic packages as a starting point, and then they can be customized to fit your wedding. Full service wedding commissions begin at $2700.

How far ahead are you booked for weddings?

Anywhere from nine months to over a year. Once we are commissioned for your wedding your prices will be protected from price increases. Please check our calendar for availability.

Can you hold our date for us?

A non-refundable retainer and a signed agreement must be received before we can hold a date.

Do you take any formal posed photographs?

Signature Studio is known for making all generations happy. We will photograph the immediate family and anyone else you request to be photographed with. Mom and grandma always want pictures with the bride (or groom). Although the formal photographs will not dominate your selection, they are very important.

What type of printing do you offer?

All of our images go through a "wet process" of various baths and are printed on the highest quality resin coated photographic paper possible for our standard color, black-and-white or sepia prints. We also offer a fine art prints produced on watercolor paper. Spot coloring is available on either our standard or fine art prints at an additional charge. What type of albums do you offer?

Signature Studio specializes in not only award-winning photography, but also award-winning wedding album design. Many of our albums are truly hand-crafted and custom made especially for us. All albums are guaranteed. You really must see them to appreciate their beauty.

Are you available for travel? How much do you charge for this service?

Yes, we have photographed wedding from Yosemite to the Washington D.C. area. We charge airfare, lodging, and car rental (if required) in addition to whatever package you choose.

Who selects the photos for my album?

You have the option of selecting your album images or you can just leave it up to the professionals. Either way, you will receive a sample layout for your approval before anything is set in place.

Is an Engagement Session included with your packages?

Yes, every full service package includes an engagement session. It's very important to take advantage of this opportunity to be in front of the camera before your wedding as it will insure better photographs. Why, you might ask. Well, it helps both of you to become more comfortable in front of the camera, it helps me to determine if either (or both) is blinkers [we have tricks to help], and I can see which side you are most comfortable being photographed from. All in all it's a win-win for everyone.

Where do you do the engagement sessions?

We can do them in the studio or out on location within the St. Louis Metro area.

What should we wear for our engagement session?

You can dress as formal or casual as you wish. However, wearing colors that match or complement each other work the best. Something with a sleeve and V-neck is also very important as we want the focal point to be on your faces not bare skin.
