On Sunday we took 3 of our 4 grandkids (Aaron, Paige and Sydney) on an outing to Eckerts to pick peaches and apples. Kayla, the baby, was sick and had to stay home with mommy.

We made each one carry what they picked (hoping that would reduce some costs) and Paige soon learned how heavy apples were, but that didn’t slow her down – she figured out she could slip her arms through the handles and carry them on her back!

After we left Eckerts we had a picnic at a near by park. And like any good grandparent, I taught them a new trick. Ok, it’s not always things their parents want them to know.

When we got home it was time to get to work. We washed, peeled, cored, sliced, and made a peach and an apple pie.

Yumm yumm!

We had a great day!
