A look back into history…

March 26th, 2008

Last week Paul and I went down to Texas to visit with our daughter, son-in-law, and the grandkids.  We had a great time but really didn’t do a lot.  I think the kids were just so happy to show off their new house, friends, and tricks.  We did go down to San Antonio to Sea World and had a blast watching all the shows and the excitement on the kids faces when they saw Shamu.  I have pictures I’ll post later.

We were flying out of Dallas so we stopped that the Texas School Book Depository to tour the imfamous 6th floor window, from where President Kennedy was shot.  It was a very moving experience as we were actually standing in the same location, and perhaps walked the same steps as Lee Harvey Oswald.  Everything looked the same as it did in 1963.  Even the view from the windows are the same, with the exception of the trees being a little taller.

After we left the building we walked over to the Grassy Knoll.  There, in the left side of the center lane on Elm Street is a simple “X”; which marks the approximate location of the 3rd shot – the one that hit President Kennedy in the back of the head.

Here is an image I took showing the x and the Depository in the background.

I love St. Louis Weather!

It’s probably the only place in the world where you can experience all four season…..

In the same day!

Sunday we were one degree short of a record high, something like 74 degrees, two days later snow – and lot’s of it.BlogSnow.jpg
